Summary
Roshni Homes Trust provides residency, education, safety and a host of other services to orphan children without parental care in Pakistan. Whilst providing adequate housing for 80+ orphaned children, Roshni Homes delivers Social and Moral Development, Health and Physical Development, Academic Development and Support, and fundamentally, a regular family unit, preparing the children to depart from Roshni Homes as productive citizens.
Challenge
According to UNICEF, there are 4.2 Million orphans in Pakistan. These neglected children regularly fall prey to child trafficking , child labor, prostitution and street crime. The government barely has any resources to tackle this problem. Above all there is wasted human potential. These children can become responsible citizens by gaining quality education and contributing to the economy and be able to stand on their own two feet instead of being a burden on the society they live in.
Solution
Roshni Homes Trust (RHT) helps sustain lives of orphans by providing them care, shelter, quality education. The children at RHT are constantly under the care of trained professionals who provide detailed reports of their behavior, academic progress, nutrition & health, and the provision of excellent schooling by RHT has assisted in grooming predominantly brilliant A-Grade students. And humans who are now contributing back with social good.
Long-Term Impact
The youth of Pakistan is the future & RHT aims to take orphans out of poverty & provide them with the confidence & opportunities to develop into productive citizens of this country. As demonstrated by our very first orphan inductee who came in as a malnourished child, he went on to complete his schooling & went back to his remote village where he set up an NGO on his own, helping over a 100 disabled persons of the area to get medical treatment & prosthetics. Now that’s what we call IMPACT!
